Nadler is not the only Democrat to make this argument. Representative Nancy Pelosi previously mentioned the need for immigrant farmworkers in Florida, and Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz raised concerns about vegetables rotting due to anti-illegal immigrant legislation in her state.
