Students Fall Ill After Experiment with Dry Ice
At Vena Stuart Elementary in Gallatin, Tennessee, a routine science experiment took a dangerous turn, resulting in 18 third-grade students and a teacher being rushed to the hospital. The incident occurred during a demonstration with an outside presenter involving dry ice, leading to several children reporting feeling sick.
Swift Emergency Response
Following the students’ complaints of nausea, school administrators promptly called emergency services. The responders acted as a precaution and transferred all affected individuals to the hospital for evaluation. Fortunately, reports indicated that everyone transported was in good condition and was discharged later the same day.
Room Assessment
In response to the incident, fire crews were called in to assess and ventilate the room where the experiment had taken place. The school’s Director, Scott Langford, expressed gratitude for the quick actions of the school administration and first responders.
