Understudy Isabel Keating Steps In Temporarily
The Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that actress Tyne Daly has been hospitalized and will be unable to continue her role in the current production. The company released a statement expressing their hopes for Daly’s full recovery.
Daly’s understudy, Isabel Keating, will be taking over the role until February 11th, after which Amy Ryan will assume the part. The play, which started previews on February 2nd, will run until April 14th at the Todd Haimes Theatre on 42nd Street.
Director Scott Ellis expressed his respect and admiration for Daly and wished her a speedy recovery. He also expressed gratitude to Amy Ryan for stepping in at short notice and Isabel Keating for her remarkable performance during the first week of rehearsals.
Tyne Daly is well-known for her role as Detective Mary Beth Lacey in the popular female-led police procedural “Cagney & Lacey.” She has also appeared in “Judging Amy” and “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” Amy Ryan, in addition to her work in “The Office” and “Only Murders in the Building,” has starred in acclaimed films such as “Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)” and “The Wire.”
