Celebrating Stella McCartney
On Tuesday evening, while the city was abuzz with work Christmas dinners, the offspring of the influential and prominent individuals gathered at Selfridges to celebrate Stella McCartney. The designer’s takeover of the department store’s converted corner shop space, known as Stellabration, became the center of attention for the It girls who will dominate the festive party circuit in 2023.
A Stylish Gathering
The event saw the likes of Iris Law, wearing a pinstriped ensemble consisting of balloon culottes and a matching waistcoat by McCartney. Iris Law’s distinctive two eyebrow slits added to her unique style. Anaïs Gallagher, daughter of Oasis’ Noel Gallagher, opted for a cozy look with baggy printed jeans and a peach fuzz shade McCartney sweater, perfectly in line with Pantone’s newly announced 2024 color of the year.
Lady Mary Charteris showcased her fashion-forward choices by wearing McCartney’s cult cut-out jeans, cinched with a corset. However, the award for the most vibrant outfit went to Andrew Logan, the artist and close friend of the designer. Logan has designed a line of wearable art, made entirely from recycled glass, which is available for purchase at the pop-up.
Highlights at the Stellabration
The shop featured several exciting collaborations, including one with Veuve Clicquot. The collaboration produced bags and shoes crafted from grape skins and corks, adding an innovative touch to the collection. Additionally, Charbonnel et Walker offered uber-chic vegan chocolates, further enhancing the shopping experience.
But the true showstopper was Stella McCartney’s upside-down Christmas tree adorned with baubles, displayed in the window. This unique tree design bears a resemblance to Karl Lagerfeld’s legendary topsy-turvy Claridge’s Christmas tree that captured the town’s attention in 2017. Make sure to visit Selfridges before December 28 to witness this eye-catching masterpiece in person.
The event was attended by various notable individuals, including Andrew Keith, Managing Director at Selfridges, and Stella McCartney herself. Other attendees included Iris Law, Anaïs Gallagher, Andrew Logan, Lady Mary Charteris, Danny Griffin, Caroline Rush, Betty Bachz, Annabelle Hoy, and Henri Bergmann, also known as DJ Henri.
