Mahomes Predicts Clark’s Success in College and the WNBA
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has showered praise on Iowa basketball star Caitlin Clark, describing her as a “tremendous player” and predicting she will be one of the best college basketball players of all time.
Mahomes, who himself is an avid basketball fan, expressed his admiration for Clark’s skills on the court. “Hopefully I never have to play her one-on-one, because she’ll for sure be getting buckets on me,” Mahomes joked.
The Chiefs quarterback also highlighted Clark’s immense talent and predicted that she would continue to excel when she reaches the professional level. “She’s going to be one of the best college basketball players to ever play, and then go to the WNBA and dominate there as well,” Mahomes said confidently.
Caitlin Clark’s Stellar Season
Caitlin Clark, who plays for second-ranked Iowa, has had an exceptional season. With a record of 21-2, Clark and her team have been performing at their best. Last Saturday, they secured a victory against Maryland, further solidifying their strong campaign.
Clark, a guard for the Las Vegas Aces, currently holds the NCAA women’s scoring record. However, if she wants to claim the top spot by Super Bowl Sunday, she needs to maintain an average of 33 points over the next two games. Throughout this season, Clark has already finished 11 games with 33 or more points. Her remarkable consistency has earned her an impressive career-high average of 32.4 points per game.
The Hawkeyes’ success on the court has attracted a tremendous amount of attention from fans. Almost every basketball arena they have traveled to this season has been sold out. In fact, tickets on the secondary market have been selling for thousands of dollars, a testament to the demand to watch Clark and her teammates in action.
Clark’s Support for the Chiefs
Interestingly, Caitlin Clark has previously expressed her support for the Kansas City Chiefs, the team led by Patrick Mahomes. It is likely that she will be rooting for the Chiefs on Sunday as they take on their opponents in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.
