Crude Oil and Gasoline Prices Increase
Benchmark U.S. crude oil for March delivery saw a substantial rise of $1.16, hitting $79.19 per barrel on Friday. At the same time, Brent crude for April delivery also experienced a notable increase, climbing 61 cents to $83.47 per barrel. Wholesale gasoline for March delivery followed suit, rising 2 cents to reach $2.34 per gallon.
Heating and Natural Gas Prices Fluctuate
On the other hand, March heating saw a slight decrease of 1 cent, reaching $2.81 per gallon. March natural gas experienced an increase of 3 cents, reaching $1.61 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Precious Metals Prices Soar
Gold for April delivery witnessed a surge of $9.20, hitting $2,024.10 per ounce. Similarly, Silver for March delivery rose 53 cents to $23.48 per ounce, while March copper also experienced a significant increase of 8 cents, reaching $3.84 per pound.
Currency Exchange Rates
The dollar saw an uptick against the Japanese yen, rising to 150.24 yen from 149.96 Japanese yen. Additionally, the euro strengthened, rising to $1.0777 from $1.0769.
