Underrated Running Style
Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, has unveiled his “secret” to his rushing success this season. During a media session in Las Vegas, Mahomes explained that opponents tend to underrate him due to his running style.
Perception vs. Reality
Mahomes believes that there is a common perception that he is a slow runner because of the way he looks when he scrambles from the pocket. However, he revealed that he has been working on improving his form and speed, which has proven advantageous in his rushing game.
Mahomes admitted that his running style may appear unorthodox, but he believes it deceives defenses and causes them to take bad angles when trying to catch him. He stated, “Maybe that’s the secret to my speed – that I run not the way everybody else runs.”
Choosing His Spots
Although Mahomes may not be classified in the same league as elite dual-threat quarterbacks like the Ravens’ star player, his ability to strategically use his legs keeps opposing defenses off balance. Mahomes has developed a knack for picking the right moments to utilize his running skills.
Chasing Championship Glory
Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have their sights set on winning a second consecutive championship as they prepare to face the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl on Sunday. The Niners, on the other hand, are aiming to secure their sixth Vince Lombardi trophy in franchise history.
