Royal Couple Spotted at Church
King Charles and Queen Camilla were seen attending Sunday services near their country home in Norfolk, England. During their visit, they were photographed with the Rev. Canon Dr. Paul Williams, the Rector of Sandringham.
New Appointment for King Charles
On the same day, it was reported by the U.K. Sunday Times that King Charles had appointed Capt. Kat Anderson as his new assistant equerry. Capt. Anderson, a former Royal Artillery officer, will focus on foreign trips. Notably, she becomes the first woman to serve a British monarch in this role.
Recovery Update
After undergoing a “corrective procedure” for his enlarged prostate, King Charles was discharged from the hospital on Jan. 29. Buckingham Palace announced that the king had rescheduled his public engagements to allow for a period of private recuperation. The king’s official Instagram page also shared a statement expressing his gratitude for the well wishes received during his hospital stay.
Successful Surgery
The surgery, which took place at the London Clinic private hospital, was successful. A royal source confirmed that King Charles is doing well and is expected to have a short recovery time. The same hospital had previously treated his daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, for planned abdominal surgery.
Princess of Wales Recovering at Home
On the day of King Charles’ procedure, it was announced that the Princess of Wales had also undergone surgery. While details of her condition have not been shared, the surgery was completed successfully. Kensington Palace later confirmed that she had returned home to continue her recovery and is making good progress. Princess Diana is not expected to resume her duties until after Easter.
Return to Duties
The exact date of King Charles’ return to his royal duties has not been confirmed. However, the recovery time for his procedure is typically short. Queen Camilla has stated that the king is looking forward to getting back to work.
