Insurance Company Faces Lawsuit
Alan Ruck’s insurance company, State Farm, is facing a lawsuit after refusing to acknowledge responsibility for a recent crash. The incident, which resulted in multiple injuries and damage to a business, has escalated due to State Farm’s lack of response.
Long Wait for a Resolution
Neama Rahmani, president of [Company], expressed frustration over State Farm’s inaction. Despite numerous attempts to reach an amicable settlement, the State Farm adjuster assigned to the case has been unresponsive for weeks, ignoring repeated calls and letters.
Seeking Justice
The plaintiff, Ruck, claims to be unaware of what happened during the accident. While the police attribute the crash to a vehicle issue and the manufacturer, Rivian, asserts that the truck was functioning correctly, [Company] believes Ruck should be held responsible for the damages incurred.
Due to State Farm’s lack of cooperation, [Company] had no choice but to file a lawsuit to gather evidence and secure witnesses to support their case. Rahmani stated that if State Farm were to acknowledge fault, they would be open to negotiating a settlement. However, based on previous experiences dealing with the insurance company, [Company] anticipates either no offer or a significantly lowball offer.
State Farm’s Silence
At the time of reporting, representatives from both [Company] and State Farm had not responded to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.
A Warning to Others
Vela’s lawyer took the opportunity to caution others about choosing State Farm for insurance coverage. They stated that regardless of one’s level of success, opting for State Farm could increase the likelihood of being sued.
The Incident Details
According to the complaint filed, Ruck allegedly collided with Vela’s Hyundai Elantra unexpectedly, even though the traffic light remained red. Following the initial impact, Ruck reportedly accelerated forcefully, propelling Vela’s vehicle into the intersection where it collided with another car waiting to make a left turn.
Law enforcement and emergency medical responders arrived at the scene and transported the injured party, Horacio, to Cedar Sinai Medical Center via ambulance.
The lawsuit further claims that after the collision, Ruck continued driving at a high speed, making a right turn onto Hollywood Blvd. However, Ruck’s 2023 Rivian R1T then collided with another vehicle before crashing into the wall of Raffallo’s Pizza shop at the intersection.
Authorities arrived to find Ruck’s vehicle lodged in the pizzeria’s wall. Vela’s Hyundai was deemed a total loss, and both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
